We blessed our sweet baby yesterday, It couldn't have been a more beautiful day! We had so much family come down, it was nice to have everyone come see where we live and share this special day with us. Alia looked beautiful, I had her blessing dress made out of my wedding dress.

Alia is pronounced Ah-lee-ah just in case you were confused.

Well up until the last few weeks of my pregnancy it was pretty uneventful. I got a little morning sickness and was pretty tired.. gained a lot of weight! but at 34 weeks my blood pressure all of the sudden skyrocketed! They ran all sorts of tests on me and put me on bedrest which was one of the hardest things that I have ever gone through! My amazing in-laws took the boys for the first week which was such a blessing but it was really hard to be away from them. Then the next week my neighbors and friends took my boys everyday when they got home from school until Casey got home from work at night.. It was really hard to sit at home and do nothing when I felt great! I will tell you what though my house sure stays clean when the little boys are gone!! Well the bedrest wasn't working, my blood pressure just kept getting worse and at 36 weeks my doctor here in Delta decided that I needed to go up "north" to have her because I needed to have her early and they aren't equipped to do it here. So we went back up to my doctor that delivered Tysen and Logan up at Logan Regional, and she decided that she would induce me at 37 weeks. So on Monday morning we headed up to the hospital at 5 am, they had to give me 4 hours of antibiotics before I could deliver her because I was strep b positive. Then at about 1030am my doctor came in and broke my water, at that point I was dilated to a 6. I thought it was going to for sure take all day because I came in dilated to a 4. Well 2 hours later at 1230 I started to get sick, which was miserable but after dry heaving for a couple of minutes I ended up being dilated to a 10, so at that point we just hung out and waited for the doctor to come in and catch her..(my doctor was at parent teacher conferences) haha well anyway, Alia had a hard time breathing so they took her to the NICU for about 5 hours to watch her and make sure that she was ok. We left the hospital the next day as soon as we could, mostly because I couldn't wait to get home and also our boys couldn't come into the hospital at all because of the flu season, any children under the age of 14 weren't allowed to come into the hospital at all. She will be 4 weeks tomorrow I can't believe how fast the last 4 weeks have gone. She has been so much fun! She loves to cuddle and be held.. and at least right now she hardly ever cries, but she makes little grunting noises all day and night. She looks just like Logan, except I think she is going to have blue eyes. She has the cutest little dimples just like both of my boys. The boys adore her, and Tysen asked if he could have an older sister too.. Sorry buddy!

It's a girl!

After what seems like a very long wait, we finally found out today that we are having a girl! On Tuesday I went in for my ultrasound, right away he looked at my stomach and said, oh you are for sure having a boy, you are carrying it right out in front like a basketball, then next came the heart beat, and again he said oh that is a boy heartbeat! Unfortunately the technician couldn't get the baby to uncross her legs long enough to get a good look. He thought he might have seen that it was a girl, which was totally frustrating! At this point we had been there for a half an hour and I told him that I was paying him $300 for the ultrasound and that he better find out what was going on down there.. haha well he told me that I could come back in 2 weeks for free and he would look again.. Well I couldn't wait that long! Then yesterday My doctors nurse called to tell me that everything looked great with the ultrasound, and I told her that everything was great except they couldn't tell me if I was having a boy or girl, well she then told me that the doctor would look at my next appointment in DECEMBER?! Well that was just totally unacceptable.. luckily last night we had dinner at my doctors house, he is in my ward and in the Young Mens with Casey.. anyway I told his wife what happened and she volunteered her sweet husband to look the next morning! Of course he was totally great about the whole thing and after I got done with morning rounds ( I draw blood at the hospital) He took me over to the little labor and delivery room and right away he was able to tell that indeed we were finally going to have a little girl!

As the first day of Kindergarten for Tysen and Preschool for Logan drew nearer and nearer, I started to realize that both of my little boys were going to be in school in the mornings, What was I going to do with all that free time on my hands? Get the house clean? Cook? take a nap maybe? Well we figured there was no better time then now to have another baby! Of course with all the lovely men in my life including 4 brothers and 5 brother-in-laws I started to get a little nervous that the odds are kind of against me in having my dream of a little girl. Don't get me wrong, I love all my boys, but it would be nice to have someone to go shopping with (that want's to be there) So of course, this time around I researched all of the old-wives tales of what you need to do to have a girl! I guess only time will tell if our little experiment worked, and if Heavenly Father decides to send me another little ,boy I will be happy because we are ready for another baby in our family. Tysen and Logan are very excited, and very helpful.. Some of the cute questions I get are, Mom, is the baby hungry? is that way you are getting so fat? haha true story! Mom, is the baby making you sick? you look sick mom.. Mom why are you so tired? Is the baby making you tired?, Lets name the baby Tysen mom and then you can call me Tiger instead.

What we've been up to lately..

We have been having a really fun summer! We took the boys to the Manti Pagent, they had so much fun.. I was really worried that they wouldn't pay attention, but they were in awe! I miss being able to sit on the grass with blankets and play card games while waiting for the pagent to start but they will never know the difference! :)

Last Sunday after church we went up to Idaho Falls, Casey had a meeting up there and we got to tag along, I wish we would have taken more pictures because we got to see our friends Shaun and Carolynn! We had so much fun visiting with them and we even got to see their new home! The boys went swimming while Casey went to his meeting.

These next pictures just might be the highlight of Tysen's summer! On Friday for the 4th of July they have a kids parade, the boys decorated their bikes and joined all the kids in Delta in a ride down main street to the park, I wanted to get some really good pictures but they were off in a flash! Tysen keeps asking me if we can do it again tomorrow.

On Saturday we got to help Casey with his job! haha He drove the divco truck in the parade. Seriously this was so much fun! We had buckets of candy that we threw out the doors at all the kids. I really can't wait to do it again next year! We were one of the first cars in the parade so when we got done we hurried and parked the divco truck and let the kids finish watching the rest of the parade.

Ogden 5k Hip Hip Hooray!

Yes it is true, I went on my first ever girls weekend!! and I ran a 5k too.. I had so much fun with these girls! Everyone keeps asking me how I like Delta, and I swear everyone is shocked to hear how much I love living here! I have to give credit mostly to these girls because they have welcomed me in and been such great friends! We had so much fun eating out, and the cabin we stayed at was so pretty. I was a little disappointed in myself for just doing the 5k.. I didn't even get a medal! :( haha So I am now training to do a half marathon. I figured if people on the Biggest Loser can do it, then I can too right? Well hopefully I can do it.. :) Michelle and Shannon are rockstars! They ran the marathon, I was so worried about them the night before I could hardly sleep! Darla, Dani, Tiffany and Amber ran the half, they all did awesome! and thanks so much to Dana for running the 5k with me and hanging out all day at the finish line! Also a big thanks to our preggo drivers Kim and Stacia!

Logan's "Big Boy" Syndrome

For the last week Logan has wanted his training wheels off of his bike so he could ride like a big boy. I was a little nervous about taking them off but on Monday we went for a family bike ride and I noticed that he was popping wheelies, jumping of the side of the side walk.. and rocking his bike side to side, so when Casey got home on Tuesday night we took off the training wheels and off he went. The biggest problem was that he still wanted to pop wheelies and rock side to side haha, but he was riding like a pro in no time and wanted to ride all around the neighborhood to go show his friends how awesome he was! His face in this picture is priceless, he has giggling the whole time!

Pediatric Dentist

Yesterday the boys and I made a trip up to Spanish Fork to go to the dentist. It was the cutest kid-friendly office! It took me 4 weeks to finally get him in for an appointment and he was really worked up about it. I could see 2 cavities in his mouth and told him it was time to get them fixed up. A week before the appointment the dentist sent Tysen a letter telling him how excited he was to meet him and look at his pearly whites. I almost didn't let him read it because I was so worried that he would freak out, but after thinking about it I decided it couldn't hurt anything. He loved the letter! Then when we got to the dentist he was so good, I was worried for nothing! They even have T.V.'s on the ceilings so when they are sitting in the chair they can watch a movie. I think I may want to get my dental work done here next time I have a cavity. Unfortunatly he had more then 2 cavities and we will be heading back up in 4 weeks to get them all taken care of at once. As we were leaving Ty said to me "Mom the dentist is so cool!!" Good thing because we will be back! I had to share the cute little picture of Logan too, You might not be able to see it from the picture but he had is arms wrapped around me so tight it just warmed my heart!! :)

I've decided to dedicate this blog post to Tysen today. This morning Casey and I went to parent/teacher conferences. It is so fun to hear about your kids from a teachers perspective. She told us that Tysen has a hard time listening and following through with what she asks him to do.. Imagine that!! haha That he is very social and would rather play then do his work.. hmm... yeah!

Tysen has been such a blessing in my life, he brings so much joy and in enthusiasm in everything that he does. From the time that he was really little all you had to do was give a little encouragement and that's all it would take to get him to do something. (This might be a bad thing as he get's older ..)When he was two he had this little robot dance that he would perform for anyone that would watch.. I remember even potty training him, all I had to do was do a little dance and tell him how awesome he was and the next thing I know he was potty trained!
He is also an awesome big brother, he always makes sure that Logan is taken care of. If he get's something he makes sure that Logan gets it too. The boys share a room, and Casey and I love to listen to them giggling at night before they go to sleep.
Tysen loves music, we play rock band as a family and Tysen will play the bass or sing in the mic, he can't even read yet but he knows the words to the songs! It is surprising how good he really is! His favorite song to sing on rock band is Dirty Little Secret.
For the past couple of weeks he has been taking swimming lessons, and has gotten really good at swimming so this will be a fun Summer!
He also loves to ride his bike, it took him literally 30 seconds to learn how to ride his bike without training wheels.
He also loves to dress up.. drop by my house at anytime and you could see him as a USU football player, Optimus Prime or Bumblebee, sometimes even a monkey or alligator...
A couple of little things..He still loves his Bear, and now also has a kitty we named Jersey. He hates eggs and cheese. He likes his hair to be pokey.. he only cries when he is tired. He loves to be tickled, and loves to be teased by his uncles. He thinks that everyday is a holiday, and should be planned out the night before so he can pray for it to happen. :) A typical prayer will go like this.. Please bless that we can go ride bikes, please bless we can go to the farm, please bless mom will make cookies.. and for some reason he always says please bless danny's house.

A busy couple of weeks!!

The Holidays are really busy around our house. We are 2 hours away from my family in Salt Lake and 3 1/2 hours to Casey's family in Logan.. which means we either have to travel to see them, or they have to travel to see us! SO, we have been back and forth from Delta to Salt Lake and up to Logan more times then I can even count this past month in a half! Not only have we had family obligations, but Casey has been traveling to Salt Lake for work. He was in charge of Thanksgiving dinner for the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake the day before Thanksgiving, which was a huge success, and really fun! I got to go and help serve Chocolate Milk and Egg Nog for a couple of hours while my little boys were hanging out with Uncle Bryan and Uncle Tayler!! Thanks Guys! If you were watching the news Casey was on Fox 13 and KSL as well as a radio interview from the Getaway Guru that weekend!

We spent Thanksgiving with my extended family in Salt Lake the next day, it's always fun to get together with all of my aunts, uncles and cousins! After dinner we headed up to Logan, Casey's brother Colby his Wife Michelle and 2 kids were here in town and we haven't seen them since the summer, so we were able to visit with them and their 2 cute kids! A couple of day's later we left Logan and headed back to Salt Lake to go with our good friends Shawn and Carolyn and Heath and Stephanie to dinner and see the lights at Temple Square! It was so good to see everyone again! I miss the college days of being able to hang out with them whenever we want!

The next weekend Casey and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary!! I still can't believe the time has gone so fast, I feel like we just got married! Unfortunatley both of our boys were sick and we didn't get to go do anything.. :( Just spending time together is enough for us! On the 14th we got to celebrate again for Logan's 3rd Birthday! I can't believe my baby is 3!

The next on the list was the neighborhood Christmas party which I hosted at my house this year.. :) Which was a lot of work, but was totally worth it because I finally got to buy some really cute Christmas decorations, as well as getting to know all of my neighbors better, It was so fun to have everyone stopping by to chat! Now that it's over, I wouldn't mind doing it again next year! haha!

Two weekend's before Christmas we headed back up to Salt Lake for my extended family Christmas party, the kids had so much fun playing with cousins, Tysen even won a round of musical chairs! The next weekend was Casey's Christmas parties one in Salt Lake at Curt and Suzies house, then the next day up in Logan with his brothers and sisters. Colby and Michelle had our name this year for gifts and got us 4 nerf guns! That gift has been so much fun! Not only for us but all the kids in our neighborhood!

At last we were finally able to spend some time at home!! My family came to our house Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, all of my brothers were able to come, except of course for Brandon who is on a mission, but we were able to talk to him.. only for a short while though in his mission they only get to talk for 45 minutes! Casey and I got Band Hero for Christmas and spent a lot of time playing with my brothers and the kids, Which I kicked everones trash on the guitar! My brothers are in awe that I can actually play! (I've been practicing) Our primary class and the Young Men are in awe too! We had them over and I actually beat them all! We had so much fun playing games! Tysen loves to play bass and sing, Casey of course is the ultimate singer!

Right after Christmas I got a new church calling I am the Primary Chorister! I love to sing, and make cute posters, so this is right up my alley! If I can just learn how to sing and lead music at the same time..(In Tom's words) I will be golden!

The kids have been spending the last week with the "possey" We have had the neighborhood kids at our house nearly everyday, needless to say I am really excited for school to start up again in the morning! Happy New Year!!

We have a had a crazy fun summer, So I haven't been updating my blog.. but here are some fun pictures of what we've been up to.

We've played at the farm, gone to the holiday parades, said goodbye to Uncle Brandon now Elder Bruin! Swimming and boating at the rez, Got the boys some bikes , great bar-b-ques and spent time with good friends! Plenty of family reunions, and lastly Tysen started school this week and is loving it!

Now that school is in session hopefully I can be better at updating!

4 year old FOR SALE!

Over the last few day's Tysen has started this tantrum, for example.. He will ask me if he can watch Walle downstairs, I say yes you can watch it downstairs.. then he will say NO! I want to watch it upstairs.. ?!?! So then I proceed to get the movie ready upstairs, then he freaks out and say's No! I want to watch it downstairs?!?! What is up with this? It's over the dumbest things too.. like No, I want water, No! I want juice! I haven't been giving in to this tantrum, and he will literally sit and sob for a half an hour sometimes.. Last night before bed we were saying prayers and he all of the sudden didn't want to say the prayer, so we said fine, just Logan will say prayers tonight then we left the room.. He sat by the door screaming his head off that he didn't get to say the prayer. So Casey and I went back in the room and said, fine Tysen say the prayer.. Well of course he wouldn't say it.. So we left the room. He again went back to the door screaming his head off that he hadn't said the prayer yet. We decided to just let him cry him self to sleep. Which an hour later he eventually did.I need some help here, does anyone have any idea's on how to take care of this? PLEASE HELP!!

Convention in Denver

We had so much fun this past weekend. On Saturday we drove up to Logan and went straight to the Utah State Football Spring scrimmage game. The weather was beautiful and Casey had so much fun seeing his old boss. Then we went over to Ben and Angies' so the boys could play with their cousins Hailey, Anna and Emmy. They sure miss them, and they had so much fun playing with the girls for a little while. Afterward we dropped the boys off at the farm with Grandma and Grandpa, For a fun filled couple of days riding the tractor, 4-wheeler and playing with the animals on the farm.

On Sunday morning Casey and I flew out to Denver with our friends Darla and Justin for a Dairy Convention. Darla and I had so much fun shopping! She was so good to shop with, I think we shopped till we literally dropped! My feet hurt, but it was totally worth it! I found a great new store to shop for my boys called the Pumpkin Patch! So cute! Meanwhile the boys sat in Dairy meetings on Monday and Tuesday. During the evening the boys joined us for some great food at Buca di Beppo and The Cheesecake Factory! By Tuesday night I was so ready to see my boys again, we flew back home and spent the night at the farm, and came home Wednesday afternoon after Casey had a work meeting in Logan.

Even after such a fun filled weekend, I am sure happy to be back home in my own bed! We just love Delta and are so grateful that we have such great new friends! Thanks Darla and Justin!

Easter Weekend

We had a fun Easter weekend at our house. Last night we colored Easter eggs. We had to boy it up a little bit.. I swear Easter is a girl holiday, So we put truck and tractor stickers on the eggs! This morning the kids woke up and had a trail of candy and plastic eggs leading them to their baskets.. They didn't get the whole trail thing, they ended up just picking up the candy that they liked the best and we had to lead them to the baskets. After they opened up the baskets Casey and I made breakfast in hopes that they would eat that instead of all the candy, but that didn't really work. We don't have church until 1pm so they ended up playing with toys and eating candy until church. We tried to take some pictures of the boys in the cute church outfits, but they would not sit still long enough for me to get any really good pictures of them! and of course sacrament meeting was a nightmare because they were both all hyped up on sugar. Casey ended up in the hall with Logan. Anyway, all in all it was a pretty fun weekend. Happy Easter!

The Dresser Story

I spent most of the weekend re-painting our bedroom dresser, headboard and baseboard. It got me thinking about how old this dresser is and where it has been. My Aunt Laurie gave it to my Mom, and then when I got married my Mom handed it down to me. I know that my Mom moved twice with this dresser, and since I've had it we have moved 5 times. It is pretty banged up, and up close it doesn't look that pretty.. In fact I had to glue and nail together 2 of the drawers and try to sand down the scratches the best that I could, but it does the job. I kinda hope that the next time we move we won't have to bring it with us, but being the poor newly graduated and now have to pay back student loans people that we are.. It just might be with us forever.

I always thought it would be great when my kids didn't need me for everything anymore.. Like my life would be so much easier when they could do things on their own. Well, I was wrong.. While we were in St. George this weekend, Logan was asleep in his car seat and Tysen was sitting in his car seat, so I ran into the gas station to get a drink, and left the keys in the ignition.. The parking lot just so happens to have a little bit of a slope and Tysen jumped up front and shifted the car into neutral.. and back into a Mercedes.. I about died! I was never going to be one of those Moms.. you know the unfit ones, the Mom that made the big mistakes..! Well I can't believe it but, I have joined the bad mom club.

The guy that Ty hit couldn't have been more great! He was so nice, He didn't freak out at all, I was shaking and practically in tears, During the last two weeks I have had extreme knee pain and after running out of the gas station I could barely walk! He was so nice he was like," don't worry I have 8 kids I know exactly what it's like. No problem," If this ever happens to me again where someone hits me I vow to be exactly like him. Thankfully our insurance will cover everything. How do you punish your 4 year old after a stint like this?

One of my favorite things about having 2 boys so close together is to see the differences/similarities in both of them. Growing up both Casey and I shared rooms with our brothers. Brandon and I shared a room until I was about 13 years old. I loved it, and we are really close even though there are 7 years between us. So I wanted both Tysen and Logan to share a room. Over the last several months we have struggled with bedtime.. Last night after we put the kids to bed we sat and listened to the boys just giggling away, part of me wanted to walk in there and tell them to be quiet and go to bed! But, I held off and they eventually fell asleep. Right before I went to bed I peeked in and checked on them..... Both of them were asleep in Tysen's little toddler bed! Knowing Logan would wake up I moved Tysen over to Logan's bed. My boys are so much fun! I love watching them grow up!

Tysen's Bear

Bear has been apart of our family for 3 years now. He is actually a lamb that I got at Wal-Mart after Easter on clearance for $3.00! Tysen loves him like, well, like a Father loves a son.. Because apparently Bear called him Daddy today! I guess Bear talks now too.. Bear has been potty trained, and sometimes he likes to wear clothes, he even likes to eat with us sometimes. Tysen actually lost him yesturday and started crying because he couldn't find him. He was asleep under the blanket on his bed! It is amazing to me how much comfort Tysen gets from bear, whenever Ty gets hurt he will say "Mom, I need bear!" Bear will be apart of our family for sometime to come.

My Grandma Howland

I was thinking about my Grandma Howland today, I have always loved this picture. Just by looking at it, it reminds me of all the wonderful things that I loved about her. She is wearing an apron, she was an amazing cook and always had some wonderful treat at her house for me. I remember when I was little we lived across the street growing up and I loved going over and sitting on the counter while she baked cookies with me. Also in this picture she is holding Tayler on his blessing day, she had really bad atheritis and could barely hold him up but you can see the smile on her face and love in her eyes, she loved her grandkids. I can just imagine that right after this picture was taken she probably bit his cheeks! Well I love my Grandma and I can't wait to see her again someday.

Just a few fun Halloween pictures of the boys, they had so much fun dressing up and eating candy all day long. Our neighborhood was crazy! I could not believe the amount of kids we had trick-or-treating. Luckily the kids were done after about an hour, Logan got pretty upset when he had to put his candy in a bag to save for later, he wanted to eat as soon as he got it. Tysen woke up the next day and asked if it was Halloween again, he has been wearing his costumes for the past month!

Making a First Impression,
this has been on my mind since the Modbe event in September. We recently have moved to a new city, where nobody knows who I am. Which gives me the opportunity to Start over I realized that I can

Do you have DVR at your house? Well, I have a little confession to make, I have never had Dvr until this week, and maybe it's a good thing that I didn't because now all I do is sit in front of the tv and hit record for every little show I have a desire to watch.. granted some of those shows are for the kids like Surfs Up and The Santa Claus 3 well that one might be for me.., ( I am a sucker for holiday movies ) Problem now is when I sit down to watch the show that I really wanted to watch I have 2 shows recording and I can't watch the show that I wanted to watch in the first place without canceling it, which isn't too much of a problem cuz all I have to do is press a little button to see when the show I have recording is playing again which is ALOT and pick one and it will record it later! ahhh... I love dvr!

Last Friday night I had a blast at the USU vs BYU game, a bunch of my cousins came up from Salt Lake and 3 of my brothers came up as well. I had so much fun cheering for USU as they were all cheering for BYU. Unfortunately I think I was the only one who left the game totally ELATED! When we scored against BYU I almost peed my pants I was so excited! What a great game for Casey's last game. The funny thing is even though we lost, we couldn't be happier that we scored agianst BYU! Anyway, We are all settled in now after the long week of moving to Delta, Casey loves his new job and I do too! It is so nice to have him home by 5 every night. He only works till one on Fridays and has Monday off this week as well for Columbus day so we are back in Logan for the weekend, the little boys sitll ask me everyday if we can go home, but other than that we feel so welcome in Delta and are glad we are here.

We found a place to live..

On Friday we went down to Delta and we finally found a place to live. We move down on Saturday, I am actually pretty excited now. The house we found has a huge back yard for the kids to play in, the only down fall is it has two family rooms one upstairs and one downstairs, and we only have one set of couches... That leads to quite the decorating problem.. But oh well!

Anyway we are packing up all week and getting our house clean to move out of, hopefully we will have everything ready by Thursday. Tonight is my last night at the hospital here in Logan... I am actually pretty sad about that, although I am hoping to just transfer down to the hospital in Delta, I'm not ready to give up on my phlebotomy skills quite yet.

A new job, a new city.. no place to live..

So we have news, Casey got a job down in Delta Utah, so we will be moving. It's pretty bittersweet.. I thought I was ready for a change, but now I'm not so sure. We have been trying to find a place to live but we really haven't had a whole lot of luck. There are a lot of really cheap homes for sale, but we really aren't ready to buy yet. We want to figure out which little town suits us best first.

Casey will be working for Utah Dairy Cooperation as the business manager. He is really excited about the job. We both can't believe that he actually got a job in the field that he graduated in. He keeps telling me that we have to come up for all the USU games still, but I think I might be able to convince him to go to some BYU games instead.. Considering it is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Logan to Delta!

Fortunately for me they do have a hospital in Delta, so hopefully I can still continue to work at the hospital one night a week.

It is so strange that school has already started! It seems pretty crazy that Casey isn't going to school. He's done! We are still living like college students though, This weekend we are headed to the USU vs UNLV Football game. Of course he will be working, but I will get to play. We are both headed out on Friday it will be fun to see Casey's family in Vegas while I am there. I am leaving my cute little boys at home with friends and family, So it really is a vacation!

Next weekend while Casey is in Oregon I get to go down to Orem for the Modbe Fall Fashion show!!! I have been waiting for this weekend for months, and I just found out yesturday that I get to be a runway model for the big event! I am way excited..

Breaking Dawn

I just finished reading Breaking Dawn.. Really there are no words to describe how incredible this book is. Never ever would I have guessed the twist's and turn's. I am so happy that it was more then what I ever expected it to be. I will wait to say more until all my friends have finished! :)

Summer Lovin!

We have been having a really fun and crazy busy summer! The boys love to go swimming and are at the pool pretty much everyday, as well as nightly 4-wheeler rides and moving sprinkler pipe at the farm. We also took some family pictures up at Utah State and as soon as they are done I will post the latest and greatest of out little family.We got to go camping with the Howland side of our family over the 4th of July weekend. We only went for one night but we had so much fun! I don't think my boys have ever been dirtier... It is so fun to have these two boys so close together. They play well... and fight well.. we are learning how to share. In the words of Logan we are always on the GO! GO! GO!

It was a beautiful day here in Cache Valley, Casey had football practice this evening so I met up with one of my best friends Rachie! We went to high school together, although we barely knew each other then. We had a weight lifting class together our Sr. year and started talking about how we were both going to go to USU. Well her cousins already went there and when they were signing her up for an apartment she called and asked if I would like to room with her. SO needless to say we have been friends ever since. We roomed together until Casey and I got married. When she graduated from USU she worked at the lab with me for a little bit and now she has a real job as a school counselor.
Anyway so we sat and gossiped and caught up a little bit while the boys played at the park. I was a little worried about Logan I thought that he would be too small but he kept right up with Ty. This summer will be really fun with these two!

Easter Sunday

We went to the easter egg hunt at Nibley park on Saturday morning, Tysen and Logan wouldn't hold still for a group shot with their cousins Emmy, Hayley and Annalese

This was the first Easter that we actually did all the fun Easter Bunny stuff, we went to an easter egg hunt on Saturday, colored easter eggs that night. Then woke up to easter baskets on Sunday along with Casey's traditional easter breakfast. On Sunday night we went and had dinner at Ben and Angie's house along with my in-laws. I wish we would have taken a picture of my nieces on Sunday night with the boys they were all hyped up on sugar!!

Weekend Away

For the Presidents Day weekend our friends invited us to come with them to Idaho where Shaun's parents are building a "Barn"The Barn is where all the friends get to stay and the house when it gets done, will be for the family. You can see that the house is framed, they are hoping that it will be done this coming winter. The "barn" was amazing. It was so beautiful. If you would like to see pictures of the inside email me and I will send them to you. It sleeps 16 people and has 4 private rooms I like to call suites.

It is a 20 minute snowmobile ride in. We left the kids at home with Marti and Kevin! (Thanks you guys! We love you!) It's a good thing we didn't take them with up with us. I got thrown off of the snowmobile like 5 times! Casey is a crazy driver!

Shaun gave Carolyn a heart shaped mozzarella cheese umm.. thing? for Valentines day so we made pizza's with the red heart cheese. We played pool and a new game Killer Bunnies which was really fun, then on Monday we went snowmobiling in the morning. Thank you Shaun and Carolyn for letting us play! We had so much fun.

Luckily for us we are still in the little bracket where you actually get a tax return, instead of actually having to PAY taxes.. And it's nice, we are the first ones standing in line to file our taxes.. We did it yesterday.. When you have 2 kids it's like free money.. :) We got $4000.00 this year~! It would have been more but my thriving Modbe Business took some of it away.. It's all good i'll take all the free child tax credit I can get.. I've been contemplating having another kid just to get more money next year.. haha just kidding! Well this extra money will be nice, we had planned all along to take all the money and go on a Hawaiian Cruise, kind of a celebration of Casey's upcoming graduation.. but, we decided to be practical and pay some bills! Ha! Who does that? Well apparently we do.. SO go get taxes filed people!

Last Monday Ty got the 24 flu bug, well then Logan got it on Tuesday and Casey got it on Wednesday by Thursday I still hadn't gotten the bug and figured I was all free and clear, on Friday I got sick and now its Tuesday and Tysen has the flu bug AGAIN! Not only that but Logan and Casey have a cold! Seriously, What the heck? I can't get sick! I have big weekend ahead of me! If this is what preschool is going to do to our family.. Well anyway, tonight we took a little trip to the doctor, Ty is pretty skinny and his stomach was really bloated and he was freaking out! so we got all worried and took him in.. I drew his blood.. yes, I drew my son's blood.. I would rather have me do it instead of someone else. He got x-ray's the doctor was pretty worried about him, which scared Casey and I in return.. But he will be just fine. He just had a lot of air in his stomach and was a little dehydrated. He was going to make him stay in the hospital overnight just so he could get some fluids in him but then all of the sudden Tysen perked up and was happy so he just let us go home.. Anyway, that was our fun filled night.. Kids make life interesting that's for sure!

These past couple of nights have been really exciting to be a Utah State fan! On Thursday night we celebrated Casey's 28th Birthday! Thankfully he didn't have to film the game so we got babysitters and cheered on as Stew Morrill became the winningest basketball Coach in Utah State history! Congrats Stew! That same night we wanted Jaycee Carroll to brake a record as well he came within two points.. and didn't brake the record of all time leading scorer! On Saturday night, he broke the record and took on the title. Poor Casey he had to film that game! I stayed home with the flu and watched it from the comfort of my couch. Casey was sweet enough to find a babysitter for the boys so I could recoup!
It was really fun to watch on T.V. but I wish I could have been there to see it.. Wilkinson(on the right) has become one of my favorite basketball players! He is so fun to watch.. He gets so into the game.. It's just great! If you haven't been to a USU Basketball game you haven't LIVED!

So yeah not much has changed.
One more exciting thing happened this week. Our good friends Shaun and Carolyn Adams came over and after 2 years they are having a baby!! Congrats guys! #2- I start listening to Christmas music in October. I heard my uncle will listen to it all year round so I figure October isn't too bad right?
#1- I hate doing laundry but I will stand in the detergent aisle at the grocery store for an hour smelling all the fabric softeners,then as soon as I get home I run and put a load of laundry in.. I'll throw clean ones in if I have to.. just so I can smell the new scent.

Tysen's first day of Sunbeams

Ty started Sunbeams today. I was really worried at first. He loved nursery I thought that he would and make a big deal about the change but it seemed that he did just fine. I think I had a harder time with it then he did. Although his teacher couldn't figure out what his name was, he wouldn't tell her.. the little twirp! He turned 3 in October so he is one of the younger kids in his class. Our Primary is so big that they have 2 Sunbeam classes with 10 kids in each class! I can't wait until Logan can go into nursery in May, I will finally be able to sit and listen to the lessons again. Tysen will start pre-school on Tuesday. I am pretty excited but really nervous about it too. He will go on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 8 to 12. I am going to miss having him at home with me.

Elder Bruin on Christmas Day. (he is the one on the right) When he called he said "Ashlee, this has been the best Christmas EVER! I had a baptism this morning." He is the Zone leader right now and is training his companion to be a zone leader. He is in the Independence Missouri mission. He just got his release date, the first week in August.

It is pretty cold where he is at.

He may not miss being home, but he sure misses football. The University of Kansas was practicing when he and his companion just happened to pass the stadium. They couldn't help themselves they had to stop and take a picture.

New Years Resolutions

I've been thinking a lot about goals and what I want out of life lately. A couple of weeks ago I attended a Webnair with Modbe. It's a web conference that you also join by phone. Well in the meeting we were talking about goals specifically geared toward Modbe. But over the last couple of weeks I have been thinking about what I would like to do and see happen in the next 5 years. The last 4 years that we have been married we have been able to just focus on school and not really think about the future. I feel like now we need to start making plans for the rest of our lives, and honestly I feel like I have just shown up to a Highschool English class with my homework not done. I have always wanted a family and a nice home, but what else do I want? We are kind of at a turning point in the next chapter of our lives. With Casey graduating it's time to figure out what we want to do. We have decided to apply to the Master's program and if he gets in he will attend the Ag Systems Technology Education Extension program. It will take him 4 semesters so we are going to try and do it over the summer as well and be done by August 2009. So I get to put off some long term goals for a little while longer.
I have said before that I work at a hospital and one of my favorite things is to talk to the older patients and find out about their lives. One particular patient stands out in my mind. Over Thanksgiving weekend I was chatting with this man who was born in 1923 I was born in 1983 which makes him 60 years older than me. I don't really know what kind of condition he was in but he seemed pretty healthy. I don't know if it was the time of year or the fact that he was in the hospital but he was reminiscing about his life. He told me that the most important thing in this life is family. Friends come and go Jobs come and go Homes get replaced with new ones.. He then asked me if I had any children I told him yes that I have 2 boys. He told me to make sure to let them know that I love them. He said that as your kids get older they start to do things that you as a parent don't want them to. But if you continually love them and they know it, that it would make me and them successful in this life. I am up for the challenge. I love my kids already, and I don't have a hard time expressing how I feel. I just need to make sure I don't forget to tell them.

What to read?

Ever since I finished reading the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer.. I have had a really hard time getting into other books. I love to read! I always have my nose in a book. I finished reading Desire of our Hearts by Sariah S. Wilson the other night. What a great book! Anita Stansfield has always been my favorite author, I have read every single one of her books, and some more than once, but her last couple of books haven't been that great for me. She focused to much on depression and she has done it with the last several books... But since I am such a devoted reader I will continue to get the latest one the second it comes out. Thank you to all the authors out there who have kept me up until 4 in the morning, kept me in the bathtub for over an hour, and have been placed in my purse all day long so if I get a 30 second window I can pull the book out and read read read! If you are reading this and have read a great book. Let me know! I am always looking for something new.

The 1 Year Old Blues...

You forget the different stages of babyhood, and that really is a good thing. If you didn't you probably would only have one child. Logan has been walking now for 3 months... He will be 1 on the 14th of December. Right after Thanksgiving I put up our Christmas decorations, and as I look at my Christmas tree it is now decorated from the top half up! Every single one of the ornaments that were in grasping range of his little hands have now been moved to the top! I forgot that Tysen would get into the drawers in the kitchen and pull out everything inside well I remember now! Not only is it the kitchen, but any drawer in the entire house gets re-designed about every 5 hours between naps! This morning he cried for 4 hours until I decided to break the sabbath and make a run for some baby oragel. His little tooth on the top of his mouth is finally coming in.. Strange how he can walk so early but he is just barely cutting his 4th tooth! What is really cute is how he can say mom, play peek-a-boo and give you a high-five. I love that every time I am taking a leisurely bath (while Casey is supposed to be watching him)somehow he manages to find me and crawls right in. I'm glad for all the bad things that happen there are 10 great things that he does to make up for it!

4th Anniversary

On Tuesday we celebrated 4 years together. Sometimes it feels like I have known him forever and I can't remember a time when we weren't together, and other times it feels like we just met. Today is a day where I feel like we just met. But my love for him has grown so much more! I can't imagine my life without him, the strange thing is, is I can't believe I am lucky enough to have him love me back! We celebrated by going out to dinner to Hamiltons. There was another couple there that we think were probably celebrating their anniversary as well because they give you sparkling cider if it's your anniversary and she had a huge bouquet of roses on her table! Well this couple probably spoke two words to each other the whole night! We sat and watched them wondering why they are still together! WELL time has really flown by, I cannot believe that we already have two kids. Growing up I had been told by doctors that my chances of being able to carry a baby full term let alone getting pregnant would be difficult, so right after we got married we decided to not prevent getting pregnant 2 months later I was pregnant with Ty and carried him full-term. Then when Ty was 18 months old we had a surprise and found out I was pregnant with our second son Logan he was just as perfect and will be 1 next Friday. I registered Ty for preschool yesterday, Do I really have a child old enough to go to preschool? When did he grow up so fast? I feel like I just brought him home from the hospital yesterday. I guess the saying is true, Time fly's when you are having fun!

Casey is thinking about getting his Master's degree

Well, Casey will finally be done with his duel-Bachelor's degree in May, that's right he has worked so hard that he will have 2 Bachelor's degrees! So we thought we were all done but then the Athletic Department has offered to pay for his Master's degree if he will stay on as the Assistant Video Coordinator next year. Awesome right? or maybe not so much!
There are a few factors here to consider:

Reasons why we don't want to stay

We have 2 kids that aren't getting any younger.
They don't offer the program that Casey would like to get a Master's degree in.
Reasons why we want to stay
The Graduate programs at USU are only one year, and it would be paid for.
He would have a Master's degree!

So I am a Wife, Mom, Modbe Consultant and a Phlebotomist. I have been a Phlebotomist now for almost 5 years.I work one night a week at Logan Regional Hospital drawing blood. For the most part I really like my job. I just don't want to work here very often because if you are here too much you WILL go crazy. The problem with that is they always need someone to come fill in for someone else, so I often get roped in to working more then one night a week-I work 3 shifts next week! Now that doesn't always happen, but I feel really bad telling my fellow co-workers that I can't work for them because I would rather be sitting at home playing with my boys.. I shouldn't feel guilty for wanting to be with my kids but dang, I always feel rotten... Plus there are plenty of times that I want to get work off and need them to help me out. It's a give and take relationship. So when someone asks you to work for them it usually goes something like.. "I'll work for you this day, if you'll work for me that day." Which works out for the most part but what if you can't work for them that day? You both still end up screwed.
I love the challenge of drawing blood, everyone is different. Nobody has the same veins. Some are easy and some are really hard. For the most part my patients are so nice. I love working at night because I can sit and talk to them for a few minutes, find out where they are from and how many kids they have. I get to hear some amazing stories. The older patients and the new Mom's are my favorite patients. The older one's for all the stories they tell me, and the new Mom's are fun because they are so excited for the new baby to arrive.
I get some interesting comments about my job, I don't think I've ever gone one entire shift without someone making comments about vampires. I had one patient ask me if we really have blue blood running in our veins! That one is always makes me laugh.
The only thing I really really hate about my job is drawing babies. Especially if they are my kids' age that really makes it hard. I feel so bad causing them pain.
The best comment that I can get from a patient is "wow that didn't hurt at all thanks!" I live for that!

Moscow Idaho

This weekend I got to go with Casey to the USU vs Idaho game. We left on Friday at 12:30. We left from the stadium and they bused us down to Million Air where we went on a chartered flight into Pullman Washington. From there we had a 10 min bus ride into Moscow Idaho. It was freezing cold! I felt like I was in a little Christmas town. There were pine trees and snow everywhere. We got checked into our hotel and Casey had to go setup things for the football team, and I ran across the street to go look at Christmas decorations. When he got done we went and had dinner with his co-workers. Then after dinner we went and sat in the hot tub and went to bed. In the morning we headed over to the stadium about 2 hours early. They have an inside football stadium which was really nice because it was soooo cold! The game was really good Utah State won!!! I was so happy that they were able to end the season with a win. About 2 hours after the game ended we went back to the airport and had to wait awhile before we finally took off. I was so tired of traveling by the time the trip was over. If they could fly into Logan it would be so much better. We got home at about midnight. It was so much fun to go on a trip with Casey, it's been so long since we have been alone. Although I missed the kids it was really nice to be able to have some alone time!

I totally still get butterflies

So last night at 8:30pm Casey got HOME!!! He called me after he got off the plane and told me that they had just gotten on the bus and were headed toward Logan! So for the next hour or so I kept him updated on the losing games of Utah and BYU. (I must admit that I am still a BYU fan after all this time in Logan, but I didn't want them to win if USU didn't win!) When he told me that he was coming through the canyon I loaded the boys in the Durango and followed the buses up to campus. I totally had butterflies the whole time. I was so excited to see him! It took every ounce of self control to not run up and jump into his arms, so I held back and let Ty do all the running! He was very excited that Daddy was home! Unfortunately Casey still wasn't able to come home yet. He still had to edit and break down all the film from the game. He finally got home around 1am. Next weekend he is off to Oklahoma... Maybe, I have 5 Modbe parties this weekend so I really hope he doesn't have to go!

My first night apart

So this week has been really crazy. I have been married for almost 4 years. I have two cute little boys. Ty is almost 3 and Logan is 9 months. My husband and I have never spent the night apart since we've been married! I know what you are thinking... How would that happen? Well I know it's not very common these days but we are still totally and madly in LOVE still... after all these years! :) Basically we have never had to be apart, until last night :( . Well my husband got a new job. He is the assistant video coordinator for the athletic department at Utah State.. His dream job! (this picture was taken 2 years ago at a USU football game ) Meaning he had to travel with the football team today to Wyoming, meaning OUR FIRST NIGHT APART. See it wasn't so bad actually it's been kinda nice. I decided I had to keep myself really busy. I cried for a good part of the morning but then I decided I had to get busy...so all day I cleaned my house spotless... and I cleaned out both of our cars!! My mother would be so proud. Then I had a Modbe party.. (Yes I sell Modbe and I love it~!)- Another story for another day. Well I got home put the little boys to bed, text messaged back and forth with my husband until I was totally exhausted.. And had the best night sleep since before I had kids! Both boys slept through the night and I had the bed all to myself! Now that I did all the dirty work I am going to go shopping!!!
